Dr Adrienne Wang -
王博士的中文簡歷
The idea of talking to a professional about personal struggles can be an uncomfortable and intimidating one for many people. My role is to provide you a compassionate and respectful environment to explore difficult issues and work collaboratively with you to address them.
I have specialized training and experience in helping adults with obsessions and compulsions, chronic worry, social anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, stress, and depression. My therapeutic style involves a flexible cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) approach. I believe in empowering my clients to better manage their difficulties by building on their personal strengths and learning tools that are designed to meet their unique needs.
My Background
I am a registered psychologist in the province of British Columbia. I completed my Ph.D. at the University of New Brunswick. My doctoral research focused on deepening our understanding of obsessive-compulsive and generalized anxiety disorders. During my one-year APA-accredited residency, I received specialized training in treating anxiety disorders at the UBC Hospital’s Anxiety Disorders Unit. In this residency, I also received additional training in emergency inpatient psychiatry and the treatment of complex pain at the Vancouver General Hospital.
In addition to my private practice, I am the Program Director of AnxietyBC (www.anxietybc.com), a non-profit organization devoted to increasing the public’s awareness and access to evidence-based resources on anxiety disorders. I regularly provide workshops on anxiety disorders and have authored self-help materials for individuals coping with anxiety problems.
