I completed my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (fully American Psychological Association Accredited).
I have experience working in private practice, university academic settings, hospital settings, community organizations, employee assistance programs, and mental health clinics. I enjoy working with individuals across the lifespan. I have experience working in Vancouver as well as in the U.S. with people who are diverse in age, education, sexual orientation (including working with individuals in the LGBTQ communities), socio-economic status, culture and ethnicity. I have also been a clinical supervisor for graduate level therapists in both Master’s and Doctoral level degrees.
I possess the B.C. Provincial Instructor’s Diploma (PID) and worked as a faculty member in the PID program and taught Psychology courses in other institutions. I enjoy reading, and contributing to, research in our field. I have presented research at national and international conferences in psychology and published research within the field. I am invested in furthering knowledge about mental health, assessment, therapy, supervision, training and treatment interventions.
I enjoy supporting people in their mental health and wellness. I have experience working to help individuals manage symptoms of Anxiety, Depression, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Trichotillomania, Life Stress, Work-Life Balance, and Self-Esteem/Self-Confidence. Additionally, I possess experience working with health professionals during their training and residency (MDs, Ph.D.’s, OTs, PTs, SLPs, & EMTs).
I use evidence-based interventions in my work. My approach to therapy is integrated including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I work collaboratively with each person to determine goals and tailor therapy to the unique presenting concerns of each person while incorporating best practices in treatment.
I am happy to be back in Vancouver! I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am a native of the Vancouver area and enjoy practicing yoga, engaging in exercise and spending time enjoying the outdoors in Vancouver.
