Careers at
Changeways Clinic

Consider us for your future.

Changeways Clinic is one of the largest and most well-established private outpatient psychotherapy clinics in the Greater Vancouver area. We are often on the lookout for new providers to work as part of our team. Associates are independent practitioners working under the Changeways Clinic umbrella.

The clinic focus

Our service provides evidence-based psychotherapy largely informed by cognitive behaviour therapy and its allied forms, including dialectical behaviour therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and so on.

At present our service is oriented toward adults, seniors, and late adolescents. We are not primarily a service for children.

We do not at present offer services where the primary focus is on the management of substance use, though substance use is often a portion of the clinical presentation for many individuals.

As well, our services focus on the delivery of psychotherapy. Although assessment is an essential aspect of this service, we tend not to offer assessment-only services.

Clinical populations

Changeways Clinic provides services for individuals experiencing a extremely wide range of difficulties. Referring practitioners appreciate the fact that no matter the concern a client or patient of theirs is experiencing, we likely have at least one person with expertise in that area. Consult the Services page to get a sense of the variety of concerns seen in the clinic. Briefly, however, these include:

  • Difficulties with mood, including major depression, bipolar disorder, and subclinical depression.

  • Challenges with anxiety, including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, specific phobia, agoraphobia, and panic.

  • Obsessive compulsive disorder.

  • Trauma and its aftermath.

  • Stress management, including burnout and return-to-work planning.

  • Managing the transition from adolescence to independent adulthood.

  • Adjunctive psychological strategies for coping with psychosis.

  • Coping with disability, chronic health difficulties, and life threatening conditions.

  • Bereavement and loss.

  • Coping with life transitions, including mid-life, early parenthood, retirement, divorce, career shifts, and aging-related issues.

  • Concerns relating to sexuality, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

  • Parenting and relationship issues.

  • Anger management.

  • Eating disorders.

Individual clinicians are encouraged to identify the types of concern with which they have special expertise and emphasize these groups in their practice. Each new arrival tends to reinforce the foundations of what we do and broaden the scope of what we are able to offer.

Types of clinician

Changeways Clinic is a psychologist-focussed agency. We welcome associates who are psychologists registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia, and those who have completed most or all of the requirements for registration and whose registration is imminent. This includes practitioners moving to British Columbia from other jurisdictions.

Full or part-time?

We welcome practitioners wishing to join us on a part-time or full-time basis.
