At Changeways Clinic, Bronwen provides cognitive behavioural therapy for individuals experiencing the following:

  • Anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety, panic, social anxiety, and phobias)

  • Academic-related stressors

  • Adjustment-related concerns, life changes or transitions (academic, work-life, retirement)

  • Body-focused repetitive behaviours (i.e., excoriation and/or trichotillomania)

  • Extreme social withdrawal

My approach to therapy

Bronwen’s goal in therapy is to support, guide, and empower clients to make meaningful changes in their lives with the ultimate goal of reducing suffering and helping clients to fulfill their full potential. In helping clients to meet these goals, Bronwen prioritizes respect for the intersection of culture, race, and mental health in each person’s life. Bronwen’s clinical work is supervised by Registered Psychologist, Dr. Trisha M. Kivisalu.

My background

Bronwen Grocott is a Ph.D. student in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of British Columbia. Her research focuses on understanding why some individuals are at greater risk for depression in the context of social stress, and how our relationships with others can either increase or reduce this risk. Bronwen has completed a Master’s Degree at UBC, alongside numerous clinical practica through the UBC Psychology Clinic. Here, she has received clinical training in providing evidence-based treatments for depression, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, as well as managing life stress and interpersonal problems. Bronwen has experience working with clients across the lifespan in individual settings.
